What we deliver

Access control is a records system as much as a locking system. Who may enter, which doors, at which times, and — after an incident — who actually did. Systems that satisfy the first three and fail the fourth are common, usually because credentials are shared or the audit trail was never configured.

We design around credential model and door hardware together, because the two constrain each other. Fail-safe and fail-secure behaviour, emergency egress, fire-alarm interfacing and power continuity have to be settled at design stage; they are not configurable afterwards.

Integration is where the value compounds. Access events tied to camera footage, time-and-attendance drawn from the same credentials, and visitor management issuing temporary access all reduce administrative work while improving the record.

FAQ

Biometric, card, or mobile credentials — which is best?

Each trades differently. Cards are cheap and easy to issue but are shared and lost, which weakens the audit trail. Biometrics bind entry to a person and cannot be passed on, at higher cost and with throughput and hygiene considerations at busy doors. Mobile credentials issue and revoke instantly and suit distributed teams, but depend on user devices. Many sites mix them by door criticality.

What happens to the doors during a power cut?

That is determined by the lock type chosen per door. Fail-safe locks release on power loss, which suits emergency egress routes. Fail-secure locks stay locked, which suits secure storage. Both are combined with battery backup sized to hold the intended behaviour for a defined period. This is a design decision made before installation, not a setting adjusted afterwards.

Can access control handle staff attendance?

Yes, and it is one of the more useful integrations because it uses credentials you have already issued. Entry and exit events feed attendance reporting and can export to payroll. Worth noting that attendance accuracy depends on people badging on exit as well as entry, which is a policy question more than a technical one.

Can we integrate access control with our CCTV?

Yes. The common integration associates each access event with footage from the nearest camera, so an entry record can be reviewed visually. This is particularly valuable for investigating shared or misused credentials, since it shows who actually presented the card. It is far simpler to configure when both systems are specified together.

How many doors can one controller manage?

It varies by product, commonly two, four, eight or sixteen doors per controller. The design consideration is not maximising doors per controller but limiting how much of the site one controller failure takes offline, and keeping cable runs within specification. We size controller distribution around both.
