Microsoft 365 deployments usually fail on identity and governance rather than on the applications themselves. Licences get assigned, mailboxes migrate, and then sharing runs unchecked, former employees keep access, and nobody can say which devices hold company data.
We treat identity as the centre of the deployment. Accounts, groups, conditional access, device enrolment and data-sharing policy are designed as one system, so that joining, moving and leaving are controlled processes rather than manual cleanups.

FAQ
Which Microsoft 365 licence do we need?
It depends on how many users need desktop applications, what device management you require, and how much of the security tooling you intend to use. Business tiers cover most SMEs comfortably. Enterprise tiers become worthwhile when you need advanced identity protection, information protection or larger-scale device management. We map the features you will genuinely use against the tiers rather than defaulting upward.
Will email go down during migration?
It should not. Mailbox migration runs with coexistence in place so mail continues to flow to both old and new systems during the cutover window, and the final switch is a DNS change made at a time you choose. Individual users may need to reconfigure a desktop client or mobile profile, which we schedule and support.
Can staff use their own phones and laptops?
Yes, with device policy applied. The usual approach is to enrol personal devices for access to company data with a compliance baseline and the ability to remove company data selectively, without touching personal content. The alternative — unmanaged access from any device — means company data leaves with the device when someone resigns.
How do we stop former employees keeping access to files?
With a defined leaver process tied to identity: disable the account, revoke active sessions, reassign ownership of their files and shared items, and convert or archive the mailbox as required. The common failure is treating this as an ad hoc IT request instead of a standing process, which is why we document it as part of handover.
Do we still need on-premise servers after moving to Microsoft 365?
Often fewer, but rarely none. Mail and file collaboration typically move cleanly. Line-of-business applications, print services, and anything with heavy local I/O or a licensing tie to local hardware frequently remain on-premise. Most organisations end up hybrid, and we scope which workloads actually benefit from moving.
